Install CannabisPlus on a DayZ server
Install CannabisPlus with CF and AgricultureCore, then configure the files it generates inside the active profiles directory. Use the files from your installed release: older examples use settings that have since moved or changed names.
This guide covers CannabisPlus, Workshop item 1932611410, published by IceBlade, Dumpgrah and kuli_vt. Its technical details follow the author’s 3.1.2 source configuration, checked on 6 October 2026. We haven’t compared that source with an installed Workshop binary or tested this setup in game.
Back up before installing or updating
Section titled “Back up before installing or updating”Stop the server and save the mission, persistence, profiles and launch settings. For an existing CannabisPlus installation, keep a separate dated copy of its entire profiles folder before the first start after updating.
In the checked revision, a configuration-version mismatch triggers a backup of the global and strain settings, followed by fresh defaults. Its built-in backup uses reusable filenames. Keep your own copy so a later start cannot replace the only record of your settings. Don’t change ConfigVersion to force an old example to load. Author’s configuration loader.
If the world doesn’t already use CF, read CF’s first-installation wipe requirement. Rehearse the installation on a separate world before changing your community server.
Install all three packages
Section titled “Install all three packages”In VXPanel Mods, check each Workshop ID and install the packages for client-visible loading:
- CF:
1559212036. - AgricultureCore:
3690289718, by IceBlade. - CannabisPlus:
1932611410.
Load the dependencies before CannabisPlus. Joining players need matching client packages. For a manual installation, follow the folder, signing-key and load-order procedure. Use each package’s supplied keys and leave signature verification enabled.
AgricultureCore also changes plant and harvesting behavior. Check other farming mods before adding it to an existing mod set. The author’s permission to repack AgricultureCore doesn’t cover CannabisPlus; use the original CannabisPlus distribution.
Find the generated configuration
Section titled “Find the generated configuration”Start the rehearsal server once, inspect its logs, then stop it before editing. The source path definitions put the files here:
<active profiles>/CannabisPlus/CannabisPlus.json<active profiles>/CannabisPlus/CannabisStrains/Skunk.jsonOther strains have separate JSON files alongside Skunk.json. Use the instance’s actual -profiles directory. The files don’t belong in the mission’s db folder or the downloaded mod folder.
If they aren’t generated, check the startup log for missing dependencies or script errors and confirm the active profile path. Avoid creating an old sample file just to make the expected filename appear.
Edit the settings your release reads
Section titled “Edit the settings your release reads”Keep the generated JSON structure and change one setting at a time. In the checked 3.1.2 loader, the global file uses SecondsToDryCannabisPlant, and workbench settings sit under CP_WorkbenchSettings. Its processing interval is ProcessingSeconds.
The repository’s older global sample still uses WorkbenchSettings and ProcessingTime. The loader migrates the former name, but the inspected migration doesn’t rename the latter. Don’t copy that sample over a generated configuration. Compare keys with the versioned loader before importing old settings.
For a strain, edit its own file. The strain configuration class uses MinutesToGrow, CropCount and SeedsPerPackage. For example, change MinutesToGrow in the generated Skunk.json, retaining its other fields. This revision clamps each of those three values to at least one, so zero is not a way to disable a strain.
Plant removal and spoil timing belong to AgricultureCore. Vanilla vegetable settings are handled separately; see the author’s configuration notes. Validate edited JSON locally without comments, restart the rehearsal server and relog the client before checking the result.
Add the items you want to the economy
Section titled “Add the items you want to the economy”Use the economy files supplied with your matching release and register them in the active mission. The author’s sample types file includes plants, seed packs, drying posts and workbenches. Read its quantities, lifetimes, usage tags and tiers against your terrain before adopting it.
Keep the existing economy definitions. Spawning a seed pack with an admin tool verifies that the class is available; natural spawning needs its own check. Trader stock also requires the trader system’s configuration.
Check a growing cycle and recovery
Section titled “Check a growing cycle and recovery”Join as a normal player and follow one strain from seed to harvest. Check the growing behavior and yield, then use the drying post and workbench with their required inputs. Record the configured values beside the observed result so another admin can repeat the check.
Restart while keeping a test plant and a workbench with contents in the world. Rejoin and check their state, contents and usable actions. Then rehearse restoring the saved mission, profiles and compatible package set. A successful startup doesn’t show whether those objects survive a restart or restore.
If settings return to defaults, compare the package and configuration versions and retain the pre-update copy. For a failed action, collect the relevant RPT and script logs with the DayZ build, mod versions and exact action. Change one suspected setting or package at a time on the rehearsal instance, keeping the live save intact.
Install DrugsPLUS and migrate its settings
Section titled “Install DrugsPLUS and migrate its settings”DrugsPLUS, item 2170927235, is a separate package by IceBlade and kuli_vt. Its current required-items list names CF and AgricultureCore. Install those dependencies before DrugsPLUS through the normal client/server mod procedure, including the supplied signing keys. Joining players need the same packages. The original download must remain separate; its authors prohibit repacking.
Back up the mission, persistence, profiles and launch settings with the server stopped. If you are adding CF to an existing world, address its first-installation requirement above before proceeding. Rehearse on a separate world, start once to generate configuration, then stop before editing.
The 8 April configuration overhaul replaced the old single-file layout with:
<active profiles>/DrugsPLUS/DrugsPLUS.json<active profiles>/DrugsPLUS/DrugConfigs/The main JSON now holds general settings; the directory contains separate settings for the different crops and effects. Transfer old choices into the corresponding generated files instead of replacing them with an old DrugsPLUS.json. The update also moved dp_removeAfterHarvest into AgricultureCore and introduced value clamping at startup. If an edited value changes after starting, compare it with the installed release’s allowed range. Don’t keep changing the configuration version to bypass migration.
Use the package’s current economy and trader files to add the items you intend to supply. Register natural loot through the modded-loot procedure; configure trader stock separately. Before enabling sales for players, test seed availability, harvest yield and the resulting income over a complete growing cycle. Easy access to both seeds and buyers can change your economy far more than a small loot adjustment.
Check plants and stored items after a restart, then rehearse restoring the saved world and configuration together. The author description and latest ten change entries were reviewed with AI assistance on 6 October 2026. Current package files and generated settings have not been inspected, and these gameplay checks have not run. Older dependency and crafting examples should be checked against the installed release.
