Which dedicated servers can I choose in Chicago?
Choose from Intel Core i5-12600K, AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Intel Core i9-13900K, Intel Core i9-14900K. Compare the builds above to find a fit for your games and supporting services. For an i5 build, ask us to confirm the included memory and storage.
How is bare metal different from Game VPS?
Bare metal reserves a complete physical server for your games. You control its operating system and software; VYKIX owns and maintains the hardware and network. Game VPS gives you root access to a virtual CPU, memory and storage allocation. Choose based on the resources and isolation your setup needs.
Which operating systems are offered?
Choose Debian 12, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS or Windows Server 2022 Standard Evaluation. A Windows production licence is not included. For custom ISOs, reinstalls or remote-console access, send us your requirements so we can confirm the options.
Which builds offer a Pterodactyl installation?
In Chicago, you can add a paid Linux Pterodactyl installation to AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, AMD Ryzen 9 7900X, Intel Core i9-14900K. It supports selected Linux games and excludes DayZ.
Is the 10 Gigabit uplink included?
1 Gigabit is included. Upgrading to 10 Gigabit adds a charge and setup fee. Choose 1 to 4 IPv4 addresses; additional addresses cost extra.
Who manages the VxShield firewall rules?
You manage the VxShield rules for your server's protected IP addresses. Ports are closed by default. Add allow rules for SSH, RDP, game, query, RCON, and any custom application ports you use, and configure the operating-system firewall to match.
How do I size a dedicated server for my players?
Match the CPU model, memory and storage to your game build, map, entities, plugins and other processes. Measure a busy session and test your intended setup. VYKIX overclocks and liquid-cools each build, then burn-tests it for 72 hours before handover; player capacity depends on the workload you run.
When will my dedicated server be ready?
