Clock speed alone cannot predict game-server performance. CPU architecture, workload and thermal conditions affect the result.

Bare-metal questions

Check what comes with your server and what you need to set up before players connect.

How is bare metal different from Game VPS?

Choose bare metal when you want a complete physical server reserved for your game servers in Frankfurt. You rent the machine; VYKIX owns the hardware and runs the physical infrastructure and network. Game VPS gives you root access with an allocation of virtual CPU, memory, and storage, suited to workloads that need fewer resources.

Which operating systems can I choose?

Choose Debian 12, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS, or Windows Server 2022 Standard Evaluation when you order. Ask VYKIX before ordering if you need self-service reinstall, custom ISO, KVM, or IPMI access; the image choice does not include a promise of those features.

Is a production Windows licence included?

The listed option is Windows Server 2022 Standard Evaluation. For continued or production use, you need a valid Windows licence under Microsoft terms and the VYKIX terms of service.

Can VYKIX install a game-server panel?

You can add a paid Linux Pterodactyl installation when you order in Frankfurt. The add-on supports selected games and does not support DayZ.

Which IP and uplink options can I choose?

Choose 1 to 4 IPv4 addresses and a 1 Gigabit or 10 Gigabit uplink in the Frankfurt configurator. Check the selected option's availability, charges, bandwidth allowance and traffic terms in the order summary.

Who manages the VxShield firewall rules?

You manage the VxShield rules for your server's protected IP addresses. Ports are closed by default. Add allow rules for SSH, RDP, game, query, RCON, and any custom application ports you use, and configure the operating-system firewall to match.

Does an overclocked server guarantee a particular player count?

No. VYKIX runs above-stock clock settings and liquid-cools each build, with a 72-hour burn test before handover. Your playable population still depends on the CPU model, game build, map, entities, plugins and other running processes. Compare the actual configuration and test a representative workload; clock speed alone is not a game-server benchmark.
