DayZ server tutorials
Choose the task you need to complete on your DayZ Standalone Steam PC server. Each guide below has its own page. For a new server, finish the vanilla installation and first join before changing its world or installing mods. Xbox and PlayStation owners have a separate rental procedure.
Setup and hosting
Section titled “Setup and hosting”- Install and run a PC server: Windows or Linux installation, startup, ports and first join.
- Server requirements: prepare the host and test its workload.
- Buy or rent a PC server: check the order and configure the supplied service.
- Server costs: billing terms, recurring charges and hosting costs.
- Free and home hosting: home-server requirements and trial limits.
- Launch a community server: prepare gameplay, admission, recovery and joining information.
Configuration and access
Section titled “Configuration and access”- Configure and edit a server: locate the active file, edit it and verify or undo the change.
- Make a private server: test a join password or whitelist for invited players.
- Configure PvE rules: choose and test damage enforcement.
- Configure PVEZ Reloaded zones: numeric modes, measured circles, schedules, damage and access-review limits.
Mods and admin tools
Section titled “Mods and admin tools”- Install mods: packages, signing keys, scope and load order.
- Remove a mod: dependencies, saved data and removal checks.
- Install VPP Admin Tools: dependencies and Steam64 permissions.
- Configure ZomBerry admin access: loaded administrator files, keybinds, diagnostics and built-in identity review.
- Install SNAFU Weapons: client files, loot registration and weapon checks.
- Install DayZ Expansion: module choices, required frameworks and mission files.
- Set up Expansion Market traders: NPCs, inventories, categories, zones and trade tests.

- Install BuilderItems: object placement, client files and duplicate Expansion assets.
- Install FlipTransport: recovery actions, pushing modes and lock/zone restrictions.

Loot and infected
Section titled “Loot and infected”- Increase loot: item targets, registered files and spawn checks.
- Increase infected: territories, the global cap and zone tests.
- Configure PvZmoD zombie health and movement: generated XML, day/night behavior and compatibility checks.
- Configure PvZmoD infected spawn zones: map profiles, static encounters, dynamic regions and population limits.
- Spawn complete trucks: vehicle parts, cargo and fluids.
Nitrado PC owners can follow the provider sections for installing mods and increasing loot.
World and players
Section titled “World and players”- Change the day and night cycle.
- Enable build anywhere.
- Change player spawn points.
- Change starter gear.
- Change weather.
- Change the map.
- Install Namalsk Island and Survival: author mission presets, client packages, economy and survival-system checks.
- Install stable DeerIsle: matching author mission files, separate world saves and map checks.
Maintenance and troubleshooting
Section titled “Maintenance and troubleshooting”- Update the server and mods.
- Back up, restore or migrate.
- Fix a server missing from the launcher.
- Fix missing-PBO and verification errors.
- Diagnose server lag.

Xbox and PlayStation

Choose what to add, change, spawn or remove
Section titled “Choose what to add, change, spawn or remove”Choose the object you want to change before editing files:
