- Ask OVHcloud which game and query profiles apply to the selected DayZ product; its page lists Game DDoS Protection (L7).
- Check Hetzner’s DDoS system and customer firewall as separate controls.

- Test a player join and browser discovery. A cached listing or filtering counter does not tell you whether the game remained playable.

VYKIX vs OVH
OVHcloud advertises Game DDoS Protection (L7) on its DayZ page. Include that feature in your comparison; describing all OVH protection as network-only would misstate the offer.
Ask which game and Steam query profiles apply, who configures them and what incident evidence the provider can share. A product page cannot reveal its validation code, cache path or per-packet decisions. There is no measured basis here for saying either provider adapts faster.

VYKIX vs Hetzner
Hetzner’s DDoS detection and filtering is distinct from its configurable firewall. The dedicated-server firewall applies packet-field rules. A limitation in that firewall’s documentation does not describe the whole DDoS system.
Ask Hetzner which DayZ protocol and query checks apply to your intended service and how to configure them. Its public references do not settle those details; an undocumented check cannot be counted as either present or absent.
Include the maintenance work in the comparison. You run the OS and game on a self-managed machine. With our managed DayZ product, you handle game files and settings while we maintain the host OS.
The DayZ-Specific Difference
Test the game and server-browser paths as separate services. Our managed-DayZ profile includes DayZ-aware filtering and an Anycast-edge cache for supported A2S_INFO requests.
On a cache hit, the edge answers without sending that query to the DayZ process. Ask about misses, refreshes and other query types. A quick cached reply describes browser response time; it cannot establish gameplay latency or a healthy origin.
