Hytale Dedicated Server: Software, Hardware and Hosting Choices

You can run Hytale dedicated-server software without renting a whole physical machine. Hosting listings use “dedicated server” for both, which makes price comparisons confusing.

Choose the control you need. Managed hosting gives you a game service; a VPS adds control of a virtual machine; bare metal gives you the complete physical server described in the order.

Separate the game process from the physical host

Root access helps when you need to install or control the host’s services. It does not measure Hytale performance. Describe your world, mods and player activity to the provider, then test them on the proposed allocation. Starting an empty server leaves the busy-world workload untested.

Authentication belongs to the server setup

Follow the Hytale Server Manual for installation and authentication. Our documented downloader installation separates file authorization from game-server login. The publisher also supports a bootstrap route that can pass credentials into the installed server, and a provider may have completed authentication for its deployment.

For the personal device-login flow, use the Hytale account tied to your game licence. Read /auth status in the server console. If login is needed, run /auth login device and approve the active request before its displayed expiry.

Inspect /auth persistence as well. The documented Encrypted store can retain credentials after the process stops; memory-only storage cannot. Revocation and failed refresh requests remain possible with stored credentials. Server Provider Authentication Guide

Providers also have supported non-interactive flows. Follow the method supported by your installation and the status reported in its console.

Managed game hosting

We maintain the host operating system. You use VXPanel for the console and game files, configure compatible mods and verify updates and recovery.

The listed paid Hytale package includes three same-server backup slots and VxShield protection. Our setup guide documents file-manager uploads and SFTP; it does not certify every mod combination. Review the current managed order.

Game VPS

A VPS gives you root access to a virtual allocation. Budget time to install the runtime, patch the OS and maintain game and protection rules, as well as the monthly fee.

Check the resources and network terms in the Game VPS listing. A vCore count is not a promised Hytale population, and the virtual allocation does not give you the entire physical host.

Bare metal

A whole machine can suit several services or a workload needing full-machine control. You still need an installation, update and recovery plan.

Compare the exact CPU, memory, disks, OS options, network allocation and setup fees at your chosen location. Confirm availability in the current bare-metal listings.

Verify networking and recovery

Hytale uses QUIC over UDP. Wherever you manage networking, match the assigned endpoint across the router, OS firewall and upstream protection. Refer to the publisher manual and VxShield guide for the relevant layer.

Keep the world, configuration and required mod data in an external backup. A storage failure can affect both live files and a same-server backup. Test a restore before the group depends on it.

Check the order before moving a world

Read the selected billing term, taxes and unavoidable fees in the portal before payment. The advertised VYKIX 48-hour trials cover DayZ and Rust, not Hytale.
