VxShield game DDoS protection

See how VxShield filters DDoS attacks.

See what VxShield filters before traffic reaches your game server. Compare protection on and off in a browser simulation of a 1.6 Tbps attack.

VxShield is included with managed hosting, Game VPS, and bare metal.

Compare an attack with and without VxShield.

Switch VxShield off to see the model's outcome change. In the protected example, the edge filters 1.44 Tbps of attack traffic and VxShield rejects the remaining 160 Gbps.

Protection for game servers

DDoS attacks target your connection and your game.

A flood can overwhelm your server's connection. Smaller attacks can target the game protocol. VxShield combines network filtering with checks for DayZ, Rust, and Arma traffic.

  1. 01

    Filter attack volume

The global Anycast edge filters attack volume before it can consume the protected server’s connection.

  2. 02

    Check game traffic

Layer 7 profiles inspect DayZ, Rust, and Arma traffic instead of treating every UDP packet as equivalent.

  3. 03

    Let accepted connections through

Traffic that passes the active rules continues to the server. VYKIX maintains managed-hosting rules; VPS and bare-metal customers manage their own rules.

VxShield live demo FAQ

Questions about VxShield protection.

Check which games VxShield covers, what's included with your hosting, and what this demo can show.

What does the VxShield live demo show?

The browser model follows player and attack traffic through the protection path. The edge filters volumetric traffic, Layer 7 checks the game protocol, and accepted connections continue to the server. The model illustrates those stages; it is not a live packet capture or performance benchmark.

Does VxShield provide Layer 7 DDoS protection, and which games does it cover?

VxShield combines upstream network filtering with game-aware Layer 7 validation for DayZ, Rust, and Arma traffic. The network layer handles attack volume. Game-specific filters inspect protocol traffic before forwarding accepted connections. Ports and rules depend on the game and service type. VYKIX maintains managed-hosting rules; VPS and dedicated-server customers manage their own VxShield rules.

Does 17 Tbps mean every attack is guaranteed to be stopped?

No. The 17 Tbps figure is aggregate protection-network filtering capacity, not a per-server or per-attack guarantee. Attack type, traffic mix, route, and mitigation conditions still matter.

Does this demo use traffic from a real customer server?

No. The controls run a browser simulation that compares protected and unprotected states. Attack behaviour varies. The linked incident reports document production attacks separately.
